Attracted to the idea of creating an environment for participation, my work often establishes a context through which a desired interaction occurs. It is within this context that the viewer/participant is invited to unveil the meaning of a carefully designed structure or space, which often combines the real with the unreal, the symbolic with the metaphorical. Overall, my work intends to produce artificial realities that seek not merely to stimulate human experience but to define arbitrary, abstract and otherwise impossible relationships between the piece and the audience. As part of this ongoing quest, I aim to create a synecdoche for a range of emotional and physical encounters that help us reconsider the ways by which we move through the world and the connections we establish with each other.
