In this series of short films, I manipulate the arbitrary processes of dance improvisation in collaboration with choreographer Daniel Gwirtzman (www.gwirtzmandance.org). The body becomes a medium that is guided by the conditions of the moment, while the camera becomes the tool through which I can transport the body's movements into a world of endless possibilities: from recording space to post-production and from there to the museum or gallery environment. I believe that our bodies are interconnected with digital media in ways that can easily modify our perceptions, thus destabilizing both the time-space dynamic and the assumption of a coherent narrative. In short, this set of films explores movement, dance, body and space and (through technology) expands the concept of what the body is and how it can be alternately perceived in a suspended state of ever-shifting spatiotemporal orientations.
